Moved to regular forum support. The Modifications forum is for only mods/support of mods.

On a side note, try showing what line 888 of register.asp's source is.

Could be a corrupted file, first try reuploading the ASP files again.

Hello,

I am still getting this error whenever someone trys to register or update thier profile. It has to do with the location field (country).

After using borgs upgrade tool 7.8 to 8.03 everyones profile in my forum has the location field defaulted to 255.  Other country options a present in the pull down. If you click 'update profile' you get the following error regardless of whether you make any changes or not, and if you select a c ountry. Basically there is no way to get past the update profile screen.

Provider error '80020005'

Type mismatch.

/forum/register.asp, line 888

   Line 888 is,

.Fields("Location") = strLocation

This is what everyones profile looks like in respect to the location field.

What can I do to the location field to get this to work properly?  Everything else works fine on the forum, but no one can register.

  thank you,

adam

It could be a corrupted database so first try downloading the database, open in MS Access, and select 'compact and repair database' from the tools menu.

If this fails, check the Location field in tblAuthor in the database and make sure that the data type for this field is set to Text, and by default it should be set to 60 characters.

By the way these instructions are for Access, so I hope that it is the Access version you are using as you didn't mention the database type.

It sounds like some conversion has gone wrong somewhere as you must have moved from Access or SQL Server from version 7.x to version 8.x then converted the database to mySQL.

Are you getting the same issue with your version 8.x non mySQL database before you do the conversion to mySQL. this may tell us at what stage the database is getting corrupted.
