Hi,

I am trying to move my forum v7.9 to another server who is also running windows server 2003 (by simply copying the folder to the new server) and i get the error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'CDate'

/common.asp, line 448

Is it possible the same folder to run smoothly at the old server and not to the new one??

Both servers have exactly the same operating system..

Can anyone help me out??

Also know that I am not very familiar with this..

Thanks in advanced..!

The problem looks like it is an issue with dates being in a different format on the new server.

If you upgrade to version 8 it should solve the issue as version 8 uses international ISO date standards to store dates to prevent this type of issue.

You should upgrade to version 8 not only to fix this issue but also for performance and security reasons.

To upgrade to version 8 you need to download the database upgrade tool from the download page and follow the instructions in that file on how to upgrade your database to version 8.

Thank you for the information about this tool.

I did download the database upgrade tool but I get the following error for every table:

Error Updating the Table tblForum
Cannot modify the design of table 'tblForum'. It is in a read-only database.

I check the properies of the .mdb file and its not read only..

any ideas??

Looks like it could be the server permissions at fault.

Contact your web host and make sure they have set the correct permissions on the folder the database is in.
