I know I can import members from my old forum, but what about the topics? What's the best way to import those? I have them members, the groups and categories, etc. but no topics. Thanks in advance.

Usually members would be in a single database table, so creating a generic member import tool is fairly easy.
With topic and post data this would be stored across multiple linked tables within a database, which would be unique to each forum system, so importing this type of data would take many months of work for each different forum vendor and possibly each version.
