I have tried to import the forum members into news pad and if the name has an o in it it changes it to a control charactar e.g Paul Parsons has become Paul Parsons. also Pete & Nicky Murdon has become Pete & Nicky Murd truncated.

For some reaon it's actually that way in the forum database.
I was looking inside the database, at the table with the user info attemting to glean some information, and my name as well as all others with a o like you describe was "messed up" and made a clean CSV export literally impossible.

Yeah, I saw that as well.

It's only where the name has an "on" and not all names with "o" in them.  Maybe ASP get's confused with "on" if it's a pre-defined operator/variable.

NewsPad will connect directly to Web Wiz Forums so that forum members can manage their Newsletter preference through Web Wiz Forums. You should not import forum members in to NewsPad.

Web Wiz Forums does encode 'on' and other characters, this is to prevent XSS exploits that can be used to hack and deface the forum.
