Hi,

My customer wants to make an image link to a PDF file.

Normally this works by selecting the image, and inserting the file.

Using Firefox (version 5.0) this doesnt work. When clicking ok in the insert file prompt the image file disappears and the path to the file appears in the image place (see the attachment).

In IE it works fine.

The Firefox's built in RTE API is different to IE.

You need to highlight the image moving the mouse cursor over the image to highlight it then add the link, rather than clicking on the image like in IE.

This is how Firefox works for hyperlinking images.

The Web Wiz RTE has no control over this behaviour of the Firefox Rich Text Editing API (Midas API).

If you don't like how it works you would need to ask Mozilla to change this behaviour in their Midas Rich Text Editing API that they use in Firefox.

The Web Wiz RTE uses JavaScript to send commands to the browsers own built in RTE API's. How the RTE API's work in the versions browsers is controlled by the browser itself.
